Amanda Breytenbach’s long and enjoyable journey in the design higher education environment commenced in 1995. For over 24 years she has had the opportunity, as a full-time lecturer, to develop her teaching and learning practices, publish research from her own investigations as well as produce co-publications with M-students and be actively involved in the professional development of the Interior Design discipline. Amanda has furthermore gained deep insights, knowledge and experience into program development and design education management though managing a department, fulfilling responsibilities as Vice Dean  and currently as Acting Dean in the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture at the University of Johannesburg. Amanda has participated in national education forums and professional bodies in South Africa, as well as international educational initiatives.
