Educators Forum Overview
An annual program of GloWD, the ReDesignEd Educators Forum is a global design summit. The Forum is the brain trust and think tank meeting that connects people to explore the state of design education in higher-ed. It is a necessary refreshment for appropriate curricula, content and teaching.
By invitation, this unaffiliated and independent GloWD event gathers a select and diverse group of global design thinkers and leaders. Facilitated through provocative positions, this highly structured, collaborative and hands-on gathering requires an active and engaged individual participation where each voice is vital. Through a series of rotating Rapid Response sessions, visionary colleagues and peers with unique perspectives from around the world, contribute to meaningful and universally impactful and applicable outcomes.
At the conclusion of each Forum, a global design educators agreement is crafted. Every five years, these are reviewed, synthesized and incorporated into the GloWD Universal Design Education Charter (GloWD UDEC).
The GloWD UDEC is a living document which continues to be refined, expanded and evolved for the ongoing relevancy of design knowledge. It is envisioned that all international participants will benefit from the learning and innovations of design thinking over the past five years, which have applicability beyond education to industry and business, government policymaking and applied research.
